THE STUDY OF SCIENCE
Dozens of area college students recently showcased their research at the third annual West Michigan Undergraduate Science Research Conference. Area faculty and researchers examined the students' work and offered professional critiques. The event, sponsored in part by Grand Valley State University, was held at the Van Andel Research Institute. The following faculty gave talks at the conference: Bopi Biddanda, research scientist, Grand Valley's Annis Water Resources Institute; James Gentile, president, Research Corp. for Science Advancement; Nick Duesbery, scientific investigator, Van Andel Research Institute; Kumar Sinniah, chemistry professor, Calvin College; and Katrina Hartman, chemistry professor, Aquinas College. Other conference participants included Calvin College, Hope College, Aquinas College, Ferris State University, Michigan State University, Grand Rapids Community College and Van Andel Research Institute.
